Beyond Beadery presents...

Colorado Springs, CO

Welcome to Colorado Springs!

Pikes Peak, inspiration for the song “America the Beautiful,” is the backdrop for Colorado Springs. Here, you’ll find a city that blends colorful nature with rugged history and metropolitan spoils.
Its parts are distinctive: the booming suburbs in the north and east; the bustling yet easily navigated downtown; the elegant, rustic south side defined by Cheyenne Cañon and the century-old Broadmoor hotel; and the west side, occupied by eateries and shops in what was the old Victorian center of the 1890s gold rush. Despite the sprawl, people regularly stop to say hello to someone they know at their neighborhood brewery or grocery store. That's the small-town scene the city aims to preserve.

Hotel and Travel

Alternatively, you may choose to fly into Colorado Springs directly.   Colorado Springs is serviced by a number of airlines and located 20 miles South of the Embassy Suites.

Colorado Springs sits at 6035 feet above sea level .  Follow these tips to ensure you have the most enjoyable time at altitude:

  • Bring layers - Mornings and evenings can be chilly while daytime temperatures can feel quite warm.
  • Arrive early - Colorado Springs is at least an hour from Denver’s airport, depending on traffic.  Denver can have very congested traffic during rush hour (about 6am – 9am and 3pm to 6pm).
  • Stay hydrated - Low humidity in Colorado keeps the air dry, so you need twice as much water here as you’re used to.
  • Monitor alcohol - Alcoholic drinks pack more of a wallop than at sea level.
  • Watch your physical activity - The effects of exercise are more intense here.
  • Pack for sun - With less water vapor in the air at this altitude there’s 25% less protection from the sun.  Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm and lotions.
  • Enjoy yourself  - Don't let anything you hear about the more than mile‐high altitude scare you. The air is just thinner and dryer. In fact, many people with respiratory problems move to Colorado for the benefits of the dry air.  Just follow these simple tips and you will very likely not even notice the difference.
